Milleen's Cheese has been made by the Steele family on the Beara peninsula since 1974, first by Veronica Steele and now by her son Quinlan. Milleens is a soft, washed-rind cheese made from cows’ milk. The complex and delicate cheese is made from the milk of Friesian cows grazing the mountains and pastures of the peninsula and the flavours range from lactic and floral, to meaty and smokey! Milleens is the longest established Irish farmhouse cheese.
Best with a Gewurztaminer or Pinot Gris from Alsace.
